Adolescent – Check Up Schedule
We recommend annual physical exams for all of our patients particularly as they enter their years of puberty and growth toward adulthood. We look to ensure proper growth and nutrition, but also pay close attention to the new stress levels on your son or daughter during these very formidable years. Many social and environmental hazards can hamper your son or daughter’s development, and it’s our job to help you spot more of the symptoms and discuss treatments if necessary.
What we look for:
- Consistent Growth and Development – height and weight maintenance
- Proper Nutrition
- Immunizations ( i.e. Meningitis, and Chickenpox booster)
- Proper Hygiene for disease prevention (e.g. Mononucleosis, and MRSA)
- Social Interaction – relation to peers and others
- Academic Performance – are they meeting the guidelines and goals set forth
- Sexual Development and/or activity
